Scott + Allison - A wedding day preview

All week we've been preparing ourselves for rain. Extra location scouting to find sheltered spots.. check. Buy extra umbrellas.. check. Then we wake up early Saturday to find the sun blinding me through our windows. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. Everything seemed to fall perfectly into place for Scott and Allison's wedding day and I'm so excited to share these photographs with you. Stay tuned for more soon!

baby lux

Lux is a baby with a name so delightful that its hard to imagine a better one. And whats more amazing is that she photographs that good too. This was probably the easiest new-born shoot we've ever done. Spencer and Carly's house is basically a studio. Everything is white, the light streams in through the many windows, and there is no shortage of cute vintage things to put a baby on. We also brought along a stunning garland made by the incredible Kari from Confetti Floral Design. Vancouver needs more babies.

We want to photograph your babies.

And your engagements.

And your weddings.

the order isn't crucial.

enjoy these.

P.S. Lux's shoot was also featured on Grey Like Baby. Check it out here.

Styling by the incredible: Aly Sczebel

It's peony season

peony_boquets_vancouver_wedding_photographer_blog.jpeg

I've been counting down to June 1st for months now. Why you ask? Not only will it be the three year mark from when I married my best friend, the most amazing man I've ever met. But it also happens to be Peony season. Best. Combo. Eva.

I love our little home and it's at it's prettiest in the Spring. Our walls are white, our furniture is grey, and our decorations are simple, so when spring comes around our house begins to bloom. The white walls become a canvas for fresh flowers and plants. The flowers become decorations and companions. They brighten up our little house and give us the feeling that perhaps we actually aren't living half under the ground.

As I eluded to earlier my favourite flowers are peonies, and this time of year, my favourite little flower farm is almost ready for Peony season. Last week my man surprised me with a few picks of some of the early blossoms. U-pick doesn't open until June, and it's safe to say that I'll be there opening day. Any one else want to join me?
