winter wonderland | vancouver family photography

A couple of days before this shoot I bought a new lens that I've been eyeing up for quite some time, the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens. That probably doesn't mean a whole lot to most people, but basically, this lens is amazing for portrait photography. It's got a crazy depth of field and it works great in low light. Needless to say, I was giddy to get finally use it for a photo shoot.

Green Ginger had a guest photographer.. my boyfriend Joshua and I shot this wonderful family together. Josh is an amazing photographer that I've learned and still learning so much from.. I felt quite privileged to be able to photograph with him.

It was a beautiful December day and we got lucky when it snowed the day before.. snow = amazing backgrounds = amazing photos. Some how we always end up making people stand and look pretty in freezing cold temperatures. It not on purpose, I promise! Joey was a bit fussy but we still got some great pictures!

Enough talking (well.. typing) from me... here are some of the pictures. Enjoy!

So there they are. Many thanks again to this wonderful family. I'm so pleased with how these pictures turned out and I hope you are too!
